REPORT: PSG STORM TO SECOND CONSECUTIVE 4-1 WIN
A rampant PSG surged to a barnstomring 4-1 victory over Lyon despite missing Champions League heroes Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, with all five goals coming in the first half.
The league leaders were 2-0 up within six minutes as a blockbuster first half produced 20 attempts on goal, with Pierre Sage clearly determined to take the game to the league leaders.
The problem with that approach was they gave the game to PSG, with the visitors going close on several occasions and even scoring through Ernest Nuamah’s effort from outside the box but leaving themselves hideously exposed at the back.
Bradley Barcola starred but failed to get on the scoresheet as Gonaclo Ramos hit a brace, Lucas Beraldo nabbed his first of the season and a Nemanja Matic own-goal opened the scoring before PSG comfortably saw out an uneventful second half.
Monaco’s 2-0 defeat of Brest earlier means that PSG will have to wait at least one more week to clinch the Ligue 1 title but they remain on track to secure it at the Parc des Princes next week against Le Havre regardless of what Les Monegasques can do.

FULL-TIME: PSG 4-1 LYON
How many times does the second half have less injury time than the first? That was the case today with just minutes at the end, but it was that type of game really.
A rampant first-half showed that despite missing Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele. PSG can still be absolutely deadly and once Lyon failed to get an early goal after half-time, the game was up.

PENALTY?
This game has been the definition of 'fizzled out' in the closing stages but Malick Fofana - benched for today - is determined to make an impression. He hits the deck in the area after a challenge from Carlos Soler but the Spaniard got a touch on the ball.

BIG CHANCE
Caqueret probably wishes it was Gift Orban heading off. He’s absolutely furious with the striker as Lyon had a two-on-two but the striker took it on himself instead of feeding the midfielder in acres of space, and ultimately couldn’t beat Donnarumma.
But after Caqueret failed to execute that one-on-one earlier, it’s hard to blame the Nigerian for having a go.

COULD'VE HAD ANOTHER
And they really should've. Hakimi lasered in a low cross that was inchinces away from Zaire-Emery but he couldn't pull the trigger. It will be both of their last involvements tonight.

GAME FIZZLING OUT
And as a result of those changes, the verve has just vanished from the game. PSG are controlling possession without really looking to threaten Lopes' goal.

He deserves just as big a standing ovation as the captain. It's been another remarkable game for the 21-year-old.

HAD TO SCORE
As crazy as it sounds with the scoreline, Lyon haven't been that much worse than PSG, but the home side would've surely buried a chance like that.
Crisp short-range passing by the visitors on the edge of the final third eventually opens a lane for Matic to set up a one-on-one for Maxence Caqueret as his sliding pass bisects the two central defenders but the midfielder's shot is straight at Donnarumma.
He HAD to do better there.

ANOTHER BARCOLA CHANCE
How many times have we mentioned him tonight? What's perhaps most impressive about the 21-year-old is how he goes from standing still to full-speed in the blink of an eye and he does it again here, skipping between two defenders but just off taget with his shot.

LYON CHANGING SHAPE
That Benrahma substituion has seen Maitland-Niles push up from right-back to a second floating numner 10 role alongside Cherki. And it nearly pays dividends, he rocks Marquinhos onto the back foot and feeds Cherki but his shot is too close to Donnarumma.

JUST NEEDED A FINISHER
It's Barcola again, neither Matic nor Mata can get near him as he drifts a ball across in that channel around four yards out from goal but there's no one to finish a certain goal.

FINALLY SOME CALM
Calm in this game is a PSG corner that leads to a Beraldo shot sailing well wide, but it's all relative after five goals in 50 minutes.
