Having secured a top-flight home victory for the first time since 1971 on Monday night, the Tangerines will be looking for back-to-back top flight victories for the first time in 44 years. They failed to win consecutive matches in their previous top flight seasons in 1970-71. This last occurred when they won 3-1 at Tottenham (October 15, 1966) and 6-0 at home against Newcastle United (October 22, 1966).

HEAD-TO-HEAD: Blackpool and Everton have met 46 times in the league. Blackpool have won 15, Everton 20 and there have been 11 draws. Blackpool have not won in their last three league matches against Everton, failing to score in all three, since a 1-0 victory at Goodison Park in old Division One in November 1966.

Craig Cathcart has recovered from a back injury sustained in Monday night's win over West Brom, so the only change for Blackpool sees Keith Southern replace Elliot Grandin in midfield. For Everton, Jack Rodwell remians on the bench despite an appearance for the reserves during the week.

Few pundits predicted these sides would be separated by little other than goal difference after ten Premier League games but that is exactly as it stands as David Moyes' Everton travel to Lancashire to face Ian Holloway's Blackpool. Don't let the table fool you though, neither sides' pre-season aspirations will have changed. For Blackpool, it is survival; for their visitors Europe.
