Lovely from Gyan! He flicks a header on for himself to latch on to and drills a low shot that Jussi Jaaskelainen fumbles to block! first test for the Bolton keeper.

Davies swings in a cross to the far post, but again it is headed clear. If only he could be in there to meet his own crosses.

Paul Robinson comes across block Jordan Henderson's progress down the left. sunderland seeing more of it in the Bolton half now.

Elmander wins Bolton a corner, although Sunderland wanted a foul on Onuoha. In any event, Gordon catches the set piece. Al-Muhamadi has dropped in as a makeshift left-back, with Onuoha moving into the middle.

Bent is played into acres of space, and no wonder, he was offside. Mind you, the first replay seems to suggest he was level with the last man.
