GOAL!! 3-1 ARSENAL!! It's a mirror image of the second as Gervinho rampages down the left this time and pulls back a pass for the on-rushing Van Persie to hit past Begovic!

Santos catches Whelan late. The Brazilian gets a talking-to from referee Lee Mason, but no booking.

Whelan floats the ball into the box and Jones heads across to Jerome. Szczesny grabs the ball before the striker can reach it.

Santos fouls Whitehead in midfield and Stoke send all their big men forward.

Stoke substitution: Pulis throws on Cameron Jerome and Kenwyne Jones as he goes in search of another equaliser.

GOAL!! 2-1 ARSENAL!! Gervinho motors past his marker to the byline again and he pulls the ball back to Van Persie. The Arsenal captain pokes the ball on target and it squirms past Begovic and into the net!

Arsenal fail once more to use a corner to their advantage. Arshavin's quick feet wins another set piece for the home side, which Crouch heads clear.

Arsenal substitution: Andrei Arshavin replaces Walcott.

Gervinho goes toe-to-toe with Whelan and wins another corner.

Van Persie is already looking the best player on the pitch after coming off the bench. Arsenal look a lot more threatening with him out there.
