Arteta manages to keep the ball in play in the Stoke half and Whitehead slides in with a tackle and sends the Spaniard tumbling as he follows through. Arsenal only get a throw-in from referee Lee Mason.

Plenty of whistles and boos for Delap as he prepares to hurl the ball into the Arsenal box. That's the most noise the home crowd has made so far in this match. In any event, Arsenal clear the ball and Dean Whitehead fouls Arteta as he tries to win the second ball.

Good move down the left from Walters and Wilson, and Walcott makes the tackle to give Delap his first chance of a long throw.
