Strong tackle by Caldwell allows McCarthy to bring it clear, Gomez with an angled cross for Di Santo but Distin clears.

Wigan have their tails up now as they hold on to possession with Everton on the back foot.

Beausejour with a super run down the left, one-two with McCarthur and in behind Hibbert but he can't find Di Santo with the low cross, Heitinga hacking clear.
16'
Wigan doing all right again now as they put some pressure on the visiting defence.
14'
I don't know if he'll come on today but I'm looking forward to seeing Jelavic at this level. And to the person who asked if he'll play alongside Saha, no - unless he's sold to Spurs in the summer.

Good move from Everton as Donovan finds Stracqualursi with a neat little pass but the Argentine finds it tough to dig out a shot, prodding it at Al-Habsi. First save of the game.
12'
Free-kick to Everton now as Stam fouls Pienaar. Scrappy start this is.
10'
Boyce goes through the back of Cahill and Everton have a free-kick.
9'
Late tackle by Moses on Distin but he gets away with it.
8'
The initial corner is cleared; Beausejour puts it back in but Howard flies through the bodies to punch away to safety. After a shaky start Wigan are doing quite well; a lot of empty seats though.
7'
Donovan clears but only to Beasejour, he crosses but cleared; back to the Chilean, who feeds Gomez but his low cross is hacked behind by Distin.
6'
Good defensive header from Heitinga. Martinez showed a nice first touch earlier after the ball landed out of play.
5'
Everton break and Stracqualursi could be in but the flag is up for offside.
4'
Foul throw by McCarthur. Oops.
3'
Wigan do get forward, Stam taking on Pienaar but unable to get past ex-Wigan man Baines.
2'
Wigan start by giving the ball away a couple of times.

Everton won 3-1 at Goodison Park when the teams last met in the Premier League in September. Everton have scored more than one goal in a Premier League game four times in 19 matches since then.
14:45
So Everton's big money signing Nikica Jelavic is on the bench today, with Stracqualursi preferred up front instead, supported by Cahill. But another deadline day deal does feature - old boy Pienaar slots straight back into the midfield. For Wigan, the January arrival Beausejour starts, while Rodallega is available to come on from the bench.
