Chance for United! Rafael crosses low for Van Persie, whose low shot deflects into the path of Scholes... he cannot get his shot away and claims he has been fouled by Sean Derry! Referee Lee Probert dismisses the appeal.

Look, if I were you I'd check out one of the three other games on at the moment.

Mark Bowen: chews gum like a proper football manager.
13'
Fletcher plays a long ball down the line for Young to chase. That's 'chase' rather than 'get to' - the ball skips out for a goal kick.

It's a dreary game, played at no real pace. No penetration from either side. Wake me up when something happens...

This has been something of a yawn, I'm afraid. No goalmouth action at either end.

Mark Bowen seems to be bossing things in the QPR dugout, while Eddie Niedzwiecki has an audio link to somebody. Not Harry, surely?
8'
The TV cameras have a lingering shot of Julio Cesar's knees. I'm afraid the significance is lost on me.
7'
Van Persie hoofs the corner away... Ashley Young chases after it and Traore comes across to put the ball out for a throw.
6'
Rio Ferdinand slips over and recovers just in time to stop Mackie racing through on goal - but it is a QPR corner.
5'
Young plays it down the line for the overlapping Evra, whose cross is headed clear.

Long ball for Mackie to chase... Lindegaard trots out of his box to collect it. Not a thrilling start.

There's a load of former United stars in the crowd today due to the unveiling of the Fergie statue - Robson, Schmeichel, Solskjaer and... Ryan Giggs.

The home fans are singing that 12 Days of Christmas / Cantona song - it's that time of year again.

And off we go at last! Both teams in their 'home' kits, which always makes for a better visual spectacle.
15:05
Van Persie is presented with some award or other. Still not under way.
15:00
Finally the teams come out after a delay of a few minutes - not sure why the hold-up but we'll be under way shortly.
14:55
Redknapp signs autographs in the crowd - all eyes on the new QPR boss as he takes his seat. The teams are ready to come out of the tunnel.
14:50
Man Utd are yet to draw a game this season, only four teams in Premier League history have drawn none of their opening 13 games (including Bolton last season).
14:45
QPR have taken just three points from the last 57 available in Premier League away matches (W0 D3 L16).
14:40
Redknapp looks like an excellent appointment. For all the self-aggrandising false modesty, the car-window interviews and the cacklingly matey media love for him, he's a fine manager who almost always improves football clubs. Despite their atrocious start, QPR are just five points from safety with 26 games left.
