Arsenal with another attack down the right, but Wilshere is tackled by Ki, and the ref whistles for half-time.

Sunderland have a break forward, but Arsenal press them as soon as Sunderland step into their half and win the ball back.
44'
Sunderland have been utter, utter filth. Given Poyet's showing at Brighton, which was lots of nice-looking football but with an absence of real grit, you have to wonder - with the advantage of hindsight - why he was appointed to a club in the middle of a relegation scrap.

GOAL! Arsenal 3-0 Sunderland! Rosicky scores. Wilshere lays the ball off to Rosicky, who finds Cazorla, who finds Rosicky again. Rosicky plays a one-two with Giroud, on the edge of the box, and he chases towards goal and dinks Mannone for a great team goal.
41'
Monreal is tackled by Bardsley on the left wing, and Arsenal have a throw high up on the left.
40'
Sunderland are now doing their impression of Barcelona, and Arsenal are happy to let them have the ball in defence for as long as they want, because as soon as they aim a ball forward, Arsenal win it back.
38'
Alonso trips Wilshere as he chugs towards the centre of the pitch. Arsenal start their less-than-sterile domination again.
37'
The corner comes to nothing and Sunderland clear. A lull in the game, now.
36'
Podolski's effort ricochets off Bardsley, deflects it behind for a corner and the two collide, but are OK.
35'
Wilshere slips the ball in to Giroud on the edge of the box, and Vergini pulls Giroud to the ground, gifting Arsenal a free kick just inside the D.
34'
Cazorla aims a cross towards Koscielny, who hadn't retreated from the corner, and he attempts a flick-on towards Mertesacker, but it drifts out for a goal kick.
33'
Arsenal win a free kick on the left, but it's cleared at the near post. It comes out for Sagna, 35 yards out, and he strikes the ball off Colback and it's out for another corner. Cazorla takes, but Altidore heads away.

GOAL! Arsenal 2-0 Sunderland. Giroud scores after a mix up. Mannone passes to Vergini, swaps the ball with Bardsley on the right. He gets the ball back and sends a daft pass back to his keeper. Giroud jogs towards the ball, and with one touch nutmegs Mannone and Giroud doubles Arsenal's lead.
30'
Rosicky decides to have a shot from distance, and Mannone collects the ball smartly, just as it dipped before him.
29'
Arsenal aren't showing much urgency. That's either confidence or tiredness, possibly a mixture of both. Either way they are not apparently desperate to score another, which is a risky approach.
28'
Sunderland have the ball in defence, send it long, and now Arsenal are back with the ball, as appears to be match tradition.
27'
Arsenal continue to press, and Arteta starts a move on the right that ends with Sagna getting cleaned out by Colback. He was lucky not to be penalised, as it was an obvious foul.
26'
Sagna bundles over Ki on the left wing, with a strong shoulder barge, and he isn't punished for it. Arsenal then swap passes between defence and midfield and slowly edge forward into Sunderland's half.
24'
Johnson whips in a ball into the six-yard box that Koscielny does well to head behind for a corner. Johnson takes the corner, and this time Szczesny comes to the back post to collect.
23'
Sunderland have a rare jaunt forward, and win a free kick on the left of the area, about 40 yards out.

Wilshere lays the ball off to Podolski, lurking on the edge of the box. From 25 yards out he blasts the ball towards the top corner, and Mannone does well to tip the ball behind. Mertesacker heads the corner over at the near post.
