Loic Remy gets onto Ameobi's knock-down, but his shot from outside the area is comfortably stopped by Gazzaniga.

Remy collects the ball in his own half, and is instantly fouled by Schneiderlin to stop the attack. Jack Cork also came in with the first hack.

Santon crosses from the left, but it's straight to Gazzaniga. Santon's hair, with some yellow dye down the middle, is a disgrace.

Lambert chips a ball over the top for Rodriguez, but his first-time volley is scuffed and useless.

Southampton still dominating possession but doing little with it. A long ball to Rodriguez finds the forward offside.

Southampton camped outside Newcastle's box, but an offside decision goes against them and Newcastle can clear.

No rhythm for either side, as you might expect so soon into the new half.

Lallana and Schneiderlin replace Ward-Prowse and Osvaldo.

A Debuchy cross is headed away, as we enter the last minute of the half. Southampton show no urgency in getting the ball forward, and the referee whistles to signal the end of the half.

Southampton try to pass their way through the Newcastle defence, but with no success.

Southampton's possession has dropped to 64% now.

Lambert fouls Tiote in midfield, and Newcastle will send the ball into the box again with Debuchy. It's curled to the back post and Chambers heads away.

A cross to Dani Osvaldo, and it's offside again.

Ameobi charges down Hooiveld's pass, and he beats Lovren for pace to win the ball. He manages, just about, to see off Lovren's attentions and gives the ball to Anita. The midfielder twists and turns his way into the box brilliantly, but his pullback is to nobody at all.

Davis curls an absolutely brilliant ball down the right for Lambert, and his shot is dragged well wide.

Sissoko tries to run on goal but Hooiveld isn't befuddled, and ably stops his progress.

Shaw does well to stop a Newcastle break, and manages to win a goal kick in the process.

Lambert clips the ball off Coloccini in the corner to win a, er, corner, on the right. Ward-Prowse sends it in, but Krul punches it away.

Sissoko gets into the box with a one-two from Remy. It was a heavy touch and Sissoko's cross is straight at Gazzaniga and cleared.

Santon curls a free kick from about 30 yards a couple of yards over. It was well struck but just a little high.

Anita nutmegs Rodriguez on the edge of the box and gets himself a free kick with the trip.
