Good evening and welcome to LIVE text commentary of the Premier League clash between Burnley and Manchester City at Turf Moor. The Citizens will be hoping to close the gap on leaders Chelsea to just two points ahead of the Blues' clash with Southampton on Sunday. A City victory would indeed, crank up the heat on Jose Mourinho and co, although the Londoners would still have two games in hand. As for Burnley, they know a positive result is vital if they are to stay within touching distance of the sides just above the dropzone. Aston Villa's triumph at Sunderland means the Clarets are now four points adrift of safety.

More dangerous play from the Clarets on the right as Boyd's probing cross is headed behind for a corner. A bright spell for the hosts.

Kieran Trippier races down the right and clips a cross into the box that Clichy chests down before clearing. The hosts shout for a penalty - no chance.
9'
Not much to choose between the sides in the early exchanges.
8'
Ings marauds down the right flank and tries to lob the ball over the head of Martin Demichelis as he surges into the area. The striker catches a loose arm in the face but in truth he had already lost possession.
7'
Smart interception from Jason Shackell as David Silva looked to find Dzeko 35 yards out.
6'
Devilish play from Jesus Navas on the right as the Spaniard manufactures a yard of space and fizzes a low ball into the six-yard box that Tom Heaton does well to come out and claim.
5'
City probing without really showing their teeth as of yet. Burnley look content to press and counter when the opportunity arises.

Dyche on Vokes' first PL start: "I made it clear with Sam that we have deliberately held him back. Not because we don't need him or value him but because I think when players have had long-term injuries it takes time. His training has been getting better and better and so has his sharpness and fitness. He is beginning to look back to where he wants to be and where we want him to be. We know what a good player he is and we want him to add to the group."

HEAD-TO-HEAD: There have been 45 goals scored in the last nine matches between Burnley and Man City in all competitions. City are unbeaten in their last six visits to Turf Moor in all competitions, winning the last five in a row and scoring 17 times in the last four. In the last 68 league matches where Man City have been two goals ahead at any stage, Burnley are the only team to come back to get any kind of a result when they drew 2-2 at the Etihad back in December.

Vincent Kompany is restored to the Manchester City defence after being dropped to the bench for the win over Leicester following his alleged bust-up with Fernandinho. The Brazilian midfielder also returns with Pablo Zabaleta and Gael Clichy while Edin Dzeko replaces Wilfried Bony. Samir Nasri is on the bench. Burnley make two changes from the loss at Liverpool as they aim to improve a record of just one win in 12. Sam Vokes comes in for his full PL debut to partner Danny Ings in attack for the first time in a year. The Clarets are also boosted by the inclusion of Michael Duff, who starts for the first time since November.

Sean Dyche on tactics: "There’s some good education now, there’s some good people doing it, the downside is that you get a little bit of knowledge and then decide you know more than the manager. You sit at home, watch a tactics board and say ‘that’s what you do’, then get on Twitter, get on Facebook, tell the manager you don’t know what you’re doing then everyone bombards with me you don’t know what you’re doing. I’ve just had my house done and I don’t tell the plasterer how to plaster and I don’t tell the plumber how to plumb. People forget we are professional in what we do. My football education is probably £30,000 worth. The A-licence, pro-licence, unbelievable amounts of miles, an unbelievable amount of meetings, flying around Europe watching other managers and watching coaches. You wouldn’t go up to a lawyer and say you don’t know what you’re doing when they’ve studied for a law degree for five years. All my life has been football, that’s it. Football and football education.”

Manuel Pellegrini on Vincent Kompany, Fernandinho and his own future: "Inside the dressing room, we didn't have any problem. There was no bust up.... The situation with my future is easy. I have a contract here until June 2016 and will fulfil my contract here. I always try to finish my contract for the years I have signed it for. I am very happy here and don't have any problems. But you never know what can happen in the future."
