Mikel is penalised for a late tackle on Sissoko as he charged up the park. That will be a free-kick to Newcastle that they can throw into the box.

Newcastle have scored three first half goals this season, a Premier League low. Their earliest Premier League goal of this campaign was scored by Daryl Janmaat (37 minutes) in the 3-3 home draw against Crystal Palace in August.

Excellent save by Courtois to deny Colback after Perez had played in him. Brilliant stuff from Newcastle, but the Chelsea goalkeeper showing his undoubted class.

Chelsea causing so many problems down the flanks with César Azpilicueta and Ivanovic showing real class. But Newcastle look solid enough at the heart of their defence.

Jose Mourinho has won only three of his 10 Premier League away matches as a manager against North East clubs (D3-L4). Would dearly love to add a fourth today. So far, looks more than likely that Chelsea will discover an opening goal.
