Jerome charges forward as Norwich launch a rare foray out of their own half, but the former Birmingham City striker has no support and Arsenal easily regain possession.

Iwobi is buzzing brightly around the Norwich box and the youngster finds Alexis, but the Chilean's attempt to slide through an overlapping Bellerin is more than a little optimistic and the visitors easily clear.

You can feel the sense of expectation around the Emirates Stadium and, given this record, it's hardly surprising...

The tempo of the game has dropped since the protest but the pattern of play is set, with Norwich sitting deep in numbers and Arsenal attempting to pick the lock.

The volume raises at the Emirates stadium as the tempo of Arsenal's passing increases, Alexis evades two Norwich challenges and plays Bellerin into space on the right, but the Spaniard's cross is disappointing and the visitors clear.

Arsenal settle again after that early scare, passing and probing in the Norwich half.

CHANCE: Norwich are showing plenty of attacking intent early on and Olsson's cross from the left flank runs all the way through to Redmond at the back post, who controls before hammering a shot that Cech blocks with his leg.

Norwich try and fail to build a spell of possession in the Arsenal half, and it's the home side that have settled into their passing rhythm first.

Arsenal get us under way at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsene Wenger: “We lost the championship at home against the lower teams, but we played at home in a very difficult climate.

"We have to realise that, away from home, we are championship winners. At home, against the smaller teams, we lost the league.

“This club does have special values though and one I've experienced over the years is to stick together and support the team. There's no success without that.”

Alex Neil: "Is it a good time to play them because there is going to be a [fan] protest [against Arsenal]? Or are the players going to give the reaction that they expect? The bottom line is we have to go there with the intention of bringing something back, be it three points, which would be great, or a point. Whatever the case may be. We just want to go there and play as well as we can, and if we do that then we have a chance against them."

This stat about Norwich's travails at The Emirates suggests the bookies are being rather stingy with those 12/1 odds, incidentally: Just one of the last 14 league meetings between these two clubs has ended in a Norwich City win. But if Arsenal are to win, they could do with Olivier Giroud sorting himself out. Giroud has now gone 14 Premier League games without scoring, his longest goal-drought in the competition.
