Ramsey hesitates when trying to find Bellerin, but good work by Romeu to block the ball and cut out a chance to counter attack.

Fonte comes across to deny Giroud, then Romeu concedes the foul as he tries to check a Ozil run down the right.

Sanchez and Ozil are starting to influence proceedings after a good start from the vicitors.

SAVE: Forster makes a great tip to deny Ozil from Giroud's flick-on. Arsenal cannot make anything from the subsequent corner.

Campbell makes a poorly-timed challenge on Mane, and Southampton have a free-kick. Cech is able to deal with the deep cross to the far post and Arsenal can build from the back.

Ozil fouls Ward-Prowse, and the German is furious at referee Lee Mason calling a foul.

Long seems to be dragging Gabriel out of position and towards the centre circle, which is leaving plenty of space for Tadic and Romeu.

Van Dijk nicks the ball off the toes of Giroud, then Monreal goes down under a challenge but referee Lee Mason waves play on. Good moment of pressure from the Gunners, there.

More good work form Southampton but there is Sanchez in the left-back position to make the header.

Mane has time to switch the play to the right, with Bellerin out of position, but his pass it overhit and Arsenal have a goal-kick.

Another chance at the other end of a topsy-turvy match, but from an acute angle Cech keeps out a Mane effort.

Ozil brings down a Sanchez pass down the left channel brilliantly but Forster makes a double save to deny the World Cup winner.

Southampton have a four against three when Mane sets up Long, but the Ireland international's first touch is awful and Arsenal can clear.

Southampton try and move down the right but Mane is offside coming back.
