The final whistle goes... eventually... and the West Brom players and supporters celebrate a hard-fought win. The locals can barely believe that they've lost this game, but they played straight into the hands of the visitors and did little to suggest that they would have broken this Baggies defence down even if the game had gone on until midnight. There are two minutes left for Everton to force an equaliser as Barkley heads over the bar.

Moments after almost breaking clean through on the counter, Saido Berahino is replaced by combative midfielder Sandro.

The game ticks into five minutes of added time. That's a lot of time for Everton to throw the kitchen sink at grabbing an equaliser.

The ball falls to Barkley on the edge of the box. He's well placed and with time - two things that haven't been the case often this afternoon - but he sends his shot flying over the bar.

Anichebe tries to play in Berahino on the break, but his pass is too strong and the flag was up in any case.

West Brom have barely touched the ball in the last ten minutes. It's all Everton, but they can't break the Baggies down.

Brunt goes into the book for a nasty foul on Deulofeu out on the right wing.

Martinez makes his final change, replacing McCarthy with Osman in midfield.

Coleman is clattered in the box by Evans, but nothing is given. It was touch and go whether it was a penalty or not, but expect Martinez to bring it down in his press conference anyway.

You have to take your hat off to the Baggies. This hasn't been pretty, but it has been the perfect model for beating Everton.

West Brom are camped in their own box and are struggling to get out. A deflected shot flies wide as the Baggies continue to enjoy a bit of luck to go along with their hard work.

A cross into the box drifts over the heads of Barkley and Lukaku before Kone is crowded out on the far side of the area.

...you get the idea. I'm not alone in thinking the decision to sub Lennon off was a little strange.

Deulofeu comes on to replace Lennon - a decision that is greeted with a chorus of boos (and much stronger words) from the stands.
