Lingard has no option up front to pass forward to, and turns back into trouble. Smalling then puts the ball out of play.

United kick off the second half towards the Anfield Road end, no changes at the break after the enforced change of Young just before the break.

Lucas is struggling after again tangling with Fellaini - there are two minutes of added-on time at Anfield.

CHANCE: Martial gets the ball down the left and runs at the Liverpool defence but Sakho is well across to check the run.

Borthwick-Jackson comes on to replace Young - the youngster will go to left-back, with Darmian going to right-back.

Smalling then passes to Young, and the United full-back cannot do anything with the ball, and is closed down by Milner and the ball is out of play.

Ashley Young is receiving treatment after tangling with Milner, so Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is warming up. He seems to have a problem with his left knee.

Martial does really well to track back and nick the ball off Firmino as the Brazilian prepares to shoot down the right channel.

A sprint race between Kolo Toure and Rooney down the left is won by the Ivorian (!). Blind's corner again is ineffective.

United have had one shot on goal, with none on target. Liverpool have had seven, with just one on target.

Young, who is not a natural defender, does well to recover to put the ball out of play down the right under pressure from Henderson.

Blind's corner is cleared by Sakho well up the field, and Young is unable to make anything of the second ball.

The first corner of the game, as Martial switches play to Rooney, and Fellaini wins a corner off Milner.

De Gea is unhappy with his midfield, who are unable to keep the ball or win the second ball. Darmian is being dragged out of place by Milner, so Clyne seems to have acres of space down the right.

Henderson gets the ball in the right channel, and the Liverpool captain's shot is over-optimistic and well wide of de Gea's goal.

Henderson pulls the ball to the far post following a quick interchange in midfield - was that a shot or a cross to Can? Lovely build-up play between Henderson and Lallana on the edge of the area.

Moreno spreads a wide ball to Milner, who tries to find Firmino in the area, but the Brazilian is beaten to the ball by Blind. Firmino looks in vain for a penalty.

Moreno gets space down the left, then they switch play and Milner has a chance to cross from the right. Good, quick spreading of play by the home side.

The Lucas/Fellaini battle will be a real feature of the afternoon at Anfield. No side is winning the midfield battle so far - they are cancelling each other out.
