The Villa offside trap fails spectacularly and Rojo is picked out by a low cross. The defender attempts a delicate flicked finish, but has his shot blocked.

It's hard to know whether this one-sided start is down to a brilliant start from United or an appalling lack of intensity from Villa. Maybe a little from column A, a little from column B.

Rooney darts into the box and is found by Mata, but his pull-back is deflected behind for yet another corner.

A delightful raking pass from Blind almost puts Rashford in, but Hutton stretches his neck to get a flicked header to it and denies the young striker a one-on-one.

Fellaini is once again left free from a corner, but his knock-down fails to pick out a team-mate and Villa scramble it away.
