Well, that was an absolute mess of a performance from Arsenal, but they won't care. They close to within two points of Manchester City with the kind of win they do not usually manage while Burnley, who were superb, look appalled.

GOAL! BURNLEY 0-1 ARSENAL (KOSCIELNY) Arsenal win a corner on the right, Walcott flicks across the face, and there's Oxlade-Chamberlain at the far post, his inept finish deflecting off Koscileny's hand and into the corner. Huge, huge goal!

There shall be two added minutes. Arsenal win a corner ... and go short. Dearie them. The cross eventually comes in from the right - the corner was from the left - and an enormous leg of Mee sends it clear.

Arsenal are showing a little more intensity now, but not looking remotely like scoring. Sanchez takes the ball outside the box and swivels to shoot right-footed, moving away from goal, but Marney blocks almost immediately.

Arsenal shuttle right then left, before Monreal loses the ball.

Burnley look comfortable, a damning indictment of Arsenal's behaviour this afternoon.

Alexis, the only Arsenal player to attack this game in anything like the appropriate manner, power-bustles forward from halfway and out on the left. He bursts through a couple of challenges and finds himself outside the box, whereupon the ball runs loose off Mee and is picked up by Walcott at inside-left.He nips inside and unleashes a curler that's looking good for inside the near post - Heaton is certainly worried - but it's this much too high.

But then Marney bursts through Bellerin and for a second, Burnley have a break. But none of his pals are much arsed to keep him company, and the move sputters to a halt. Arsene Wenger drinks some water.

I think Burnley would probably take a draw here.

Arsenal have run out of ideas. The shuffle the ball wide, shuffle it back inside, try a cross, it's headed away, you've seen this one before.

Walcott wanders into the middle and tries to jink his way past seven men before finishing with aplomb. Except the first one tackles him and Burnley break.

Arsenal have been absolutely nonsense today.

Burnley win a corner of their own, down the left, and Gudmundsson's kick picks out Keane at the back post. His climb is majestic, only for his header to clatter the bar.

Nice from Arsenal, Elneny, slipping a pass through for Cazorla. His cut-back would've been lovely, but for the fact that no one was there, and Keane swept away, only to hit his own man and concede a corner. That went backwards to Elneny on the edge of the box, but the pass left him too much to do, only for the block to send the ball spinning towards Alexis; he watched the ball onto his laces and connected beautifully. It looked for all the world as though he had scored, but his volley was inches wide.

A double change for Arsenal: off go Xhaka and Iwobi, on come Elneny and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Arsenal have neither Giroud nor Perez on the bench but even so, I'm not sure what more he's expecting to see from his starting XI before feeling compelled to make a change. This has been a largely listless effort.

Ozil, who has been quiet today, drifts infield from the right and clips a reverse-ball towards the near post, where Heaton jumps to claim, clattering Sanchez into the bargain.

It's hard to see Arsenal playing for another 25 minutes and not scoring; it's hard to see Burnley conceeding.

Sanchez is making it his personal business to ensure Arsenal win this game, and he gives Heaton the willies when he chases him down - the clearance comes only just in time.
