SAVE! Forshaw's effort from 20 yards out forces a fine stop from Marshall, who turns it round for a corner. But that comes to nothing and Hull clear.

It's played short and Clayton's cross ends with the flag being raised for offside.
Hull go down the other end and Clucas wins a corner for the visitors. It nearly falls to Dawson but Boro manage to win a goal-kick eventually.

Fabio plays it inside to Fischer for Boro, who carries it to the edge of the area, but his subsequent pass is poor.
Moments after Hull go on the attack, Boro look to break and win a corner through Fabio...

The corner bounces before the penalty spot and Dawson falls to the ground as he attempts to head it. It falls to Clucas who gets a shot away inside the box but it's well over and causes no problems for Valdes.

Quiet passage of play. Hull haven't enjoyed too much of the ball but they now bring it forward and win a corner...

SAVE! Another chance for Boro, and it's Ramirez who works it into a shooting position before unleashing an effort from 20 yards out. It's parried away to safety by Marshall.
9'
Lovely skill from Ramirez who then plays it out wide to Barragan, but his cross is poor and Marshall is on hand to collect.
7'
JUST OVER! First real chance of the game and it falls to Negredo. It's a great break and Negredo attempts his effort inside the Hull area with the outside of his left boot instead of his right and it sails over the bar.
6'
Hull bring it forward but Diomande is unable to control the ball and it runs through to Valdes.
4'
A misplaced Fabio pass hands possession back to Hull. But Boro are quick to retrieve the ball only to lose it once more. Sloppy start.
2'
Quiet start at the Riverside. Boro enjoying more of the ball as they play it around but they're in no rush to attack.

Hull have won none of their seven previous Premier League games played on a Monday (D3 L4). Unhappy.
Middlesbrough have fired fewer shots on target than any other Premier League team this season. Misplaced.
Unhappy reading for both...

These two have met in the Premier League just twice in the 2008-09 season. Both sides won their respective home fixtures.
And as you will know, these two were promoted into the top tier this season. Boro prevailed back in March when they met in the Championship with a 1-0 win at the Riverside.

So for Boro then they have made the one change from the starting line-up which drew to Leicester last week. Viktor Fischer comes in to replace Adama Traore, who drops to the bench.

Ahead of kick-off, there will be a minute's silence to remember the victims of the plane crash in Colombia. Also a nice touch earlier as former Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen offered to play for Chapecoense as the club looks to rebuild following the crash.

Boro will welcome Sheffield Wednesday in the third round, while Hull have been drawn at home against Swansea in an all-Premier League affair.
The ties will be played between Friday 6 and Monday 9 in January next year.
