Rumours of Leroy Sane having Manchester City medical ‘are false’

Kicker quote Schalke’s sporting director as saying: "Either they (Sane and City) agree or they don't. If Leroy is with us on the plane after (our pre-season trip to) Austria, he will remain at this club."

A deal is expected to be struck with the 20-year-old travelling to Manchester for his medical on Monday.

It had earlier been reported that Sane was undergoing a medical and a deal could be announced on Sunday afternoon.

The winger is one of the most highly-rated young players in Europe and was part of Germany’s Euro 2016 squad.

City are also believed to be in talks over Atletico Nacional’s Colombian international Marlos Moreno.

New coach Pep Guardiola has already spent £39m this summer on big-name signings Iklay Gundigan and Nolito.

Meanwhile Sevilla right-back Coke is set for Schalke after passing a medical.
