Reports on Friday said that Schalke full-back Sead Kolasinac had agreed a deal to sign with Arsenal at the end of the season.
Left-back Kolasinac, 23, is in the final months of his contract with the Bundesliga side and he had been linked with moves to Chelsea and Juventus in the past.
However now the Guardian are reporting that he has been in London to sign a contract with Arsenal, rejecting moves to Everton and AC Milan in the process.
A tweet from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who works for the Guardian and Sky Sports Italia, said that the wage offered by Arsenal was what swayed the deal.
Kolasinac, who is a first-choice for the Bosnian national team, joined Schalke's academy in 2011 and he has made over 100 appearances for the club.
Nacho Monreal has been the first choice for Arsenal this season with back-up Kieran Gibbs' contract set to expire at the end of the 2017-18 season.
