Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has defended manager Arsene Wenger saying that the players are partly responsible for the team's poor form.
Arsenal are struggling in the Premier League and are currently 13 points behind leaders Chelsea with a game in hand. They are also likely to be knocked out of the Champions League following a 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the first leg although they are through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Some Arsenal fans have called for Wenger to go and his future is under intense speculation with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.
Speaking at an event in London at the premiere of Don't Take Me Home, the documentary made charting Wales' success at Euro 2016, Ramsey said: “He's been a great servant to Arsenal and great manager for me and the players.
We have let him down at times. It is unfair some of the things that have been said. People are entitled to their opinion but he has been great for me personally.
Media reports have often contradicted themselves as to whether or not Wenger will walk away at the end of the season but they all agree that an extension is on offer from the club, so the final decision will rest with him.
Wenger himself has confirmed that he wants to continue managing next season, regardless of whether or not that is at Arsenal.
Arsenal travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on Saturday afternoon before the return leg against Bayern on Tuesday.
