Good afternoon and welcome to Eurosport's live minute-by-minute text commentary of Newcastle and Tottenham. While the majority of other Premier League clubs have been splashing the cash, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has had to settle with what he has, while Rafa Benitez has become increasingly frustrated as the Toon Army missed out on a number of key targets. Though new faces may be scarce at St James', there should still be plenty to keep us entertained over the next couple of hours.

Tricky feet from Atsu as he dances his way past a couple of Spurs defenders, but Dembele is over to dispossess him.
41'
SAVE!
Eriksen cuts back onto his right-foot and curls an effort from 25 yards at goal. It's comfortable enough for Elliot, however.

CLOSE!
Eriksen is allowed space inside the area to have a shot. It goes through the legs of Lascelle, but wide of the bottom corner. That's as close as Spurs have come thus far.
25'
Quick feet from Walker-Peters who then delivers a low cross into the home penalty area but Sissoko balloons his first-time effort well over the bar.
Mauricio Pochettino will be pleased with how Walker-Peters has started the game. He's dealt well with everything thrown at him defensively, and is providing an option in attack.
24'
23'
Handbags between Alli and Lascelles. The referee gives both players a telling off.
22'
Eriksen's delicious free-kick is delivered right into the heart of the Newcastle penalty area. Kane rises highest, but can't generate any power on his header and it's a comfortable stop for Elliot.
