City have the derby bragging rights and they have the three points to take them back to the top of the Premier League table. They were the better team on the balance of play, but United made them work for the win. In the end, the gulf between the two sides was obvious even if United made it quite tight in the second half.

The move between Mata and Martial inside the penalty area breaks down and the home fans jeer! This game is over now and the City supporters are finally enjoying themselves.

No penalty! Sane was pretty clearly shoved off the ball by Smalling, but Taylor shakes his head. The foul might have happened outside the penalty area, but it was surely a foul.

It was Matic who was at fault for that City goal. The Serbian was the one who failed to step up, and when he did he lost Gundogan. The German had so much time and space.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Manchester City 3 (86 mins - Ilkay Gundogan) Manchester United 1. That's surely the end of the United comeback! City showed patience, Bernardo found Gundogan with a clipped pass into the box, the German showed composure and finished past De Gea. Game over. Three points secured.

Gundogan is playing in a pretty advanced position since coming off the bench for Aguero. Although for the most part it's Sterling who is playing through the middle as the furthest forward attacker.

Sanchez hasn't done much since coming off the bench for United. They need to see more from the Chilean. He has the ability to make something out of nothing as they chase an equaliser.

This is a decent spell for United at the moment. Martial believes that he should have been awarded a corner kick, but the throw in is given. City are pegged back for the time being.

Sane tried to walk it in! The German attempted to dribble his way through the entire Man Utd defence, but in the end there were simply too many bodies for him to get through.

City got away with one there. United were pressing high on the home side, forcing Silva into a dodgy pass back to his goalkeeper. Ederson got there just before it went out for a corner.

This has gotten scrappy, disjointed and exactly what a derby should be. United will be happy with that, City won't. Mourinho has 12 minutes left to mastermind another comeback.

Guardiola takes off his only out-and-out striker and replaces him with Gundogan, a midfielder.

Wild from Sane! Oh dear! Man City had a four-on-two situation there as they caught Man Utd on the break, but Sane showed no composure and blasts well over from 18 yards out.
