McCarthy tries a Cruyff turn to beat a closing striker and it works, but he then passes wide of Cedric and into touch. Yet more groans.

There are groans as Ward-Prowse plays a cross-field pass to absolutely nobody.

Sarr wins a wide free-kick and that allows Watford to send in a series of underwhelming crosses, but Saints don't deal with them particularly well before Sarr is caught offside.

Southampton have dominated possession so far and a certainly looking to take the game to Watford - a strategy that could well play into the visitors' hands.

Foster confidently out to seize a through ball before Ings can get there.

Redmond and Bertrand link-up nicely, allowing Redmond to come inside and play a one-two with Ings. The return pass isn't quite right though, forcing Redmond to shoot with his body moving away from goal as and a result it's a comfortable save for Foster.

Southampton press Watford, winning the ball in the opposition half, and Masina is then fortunate to escape without a booking after sliding in late on Obafemi.

"We only lost eight-nil!" That's the chant coming from the away end.
