A very good evening and welcome to Eurosport’s live coverage of a vital game at the bottom of the Premier League - it’s 19th-placed Southampton hosting bottom club Watford. Both are in desperate need of points after torrid starts to the season, but a loss would be devastating and perhaps even the final nail in the coffin for either manager. This will likely be a nervy affair and team news is on the way next...

Hojbjerg hits a bouncing ball over from the edge of the box.

Cedric pretty much puts Sarr through on goal with a sloppy pass, but Sarr takes the shot on early and shoot straight at the goalkeeper. You can see why they've conceded more goals than any other Premier League side.

We're underway.

Watford are in navy blue, Southampton red and white.
17:25
This genuine six-pointer is just five minutes away. The players are in the tunnel, with Cedric giving young Obafemi a pretty serious pep talk by the looks of things.
17:20
Southampton's best player last season, Nathan Redmond has been injured for part of this campaign and not yet found his best form. He has four goals and three assists from 14 career matches against Watford, so could this be the game to spark him back to his best?

Watford have scored just eight Premier League goals, the fewest in the division. Yet Southampton have conceded a league-high 31, so this is a case of a resistible force meeting a moveable object.
17:10
West Ham have just beaten Chelsea, leaving Saints and Watford even further adrift of safety. Both will be in the relegation zone regardless of what happens here, with Saints five points behind 17th-placed Everton and Watford an extra point back.

The Hornets have won just one of the last 12 matches these two have played. They had won six in a row before that.

Marco Silva and Manuel Pellegrino were on the touchline that day. Both clubs are now on their second manager since.
16:55
While you'd hardly call Watford's road form impressive, it's a lot better than that. They have picked up five points from six away games this campaign, crucially winning at Norwich the last time they went on their travels. This is the type of game where it might be easier to be the away team too, especially if Southampton don’t give the home fans something to cheer about early on and anxiety takes over.

Southampton's home form is terrible. They have picked up just one point from six home matches this season, losing each of their last four, and are eight home games without a win. They haven’t scored more than one goal in any of their last seven matches at St. Mary’s.
16:45
It was a record-breaking start when these two last played, so hold your hats.

As for the visitors, Ismaila Sarr come in up top and Adam Masina will be in defence as they makes two changes after being beaten 3-0 by Burnley a week ago. It looks like they'll be in a 3-5-2 formation, or something close to it. Roberto Pereyra is fit enough to feature among the substitutes, where he's joined by Troy Deeney.
WATFORD: Foster, Mariappa, Cathcart, Masina, Femenia, Capoue, Doucoure, Hughes, Holebas, Deulofeu, Sarr. Subs: Gomes, Foulquier, Chalobah, Quina, Pereyra, Deeney, Gray.
16:35
Ralph Hasenhuttl makes one change to the team that drew at Arsenal last time out, with Moussa Djenepo replacing the injured Stuart Armstrong. That means 19-year-old Michael Obafemi continues in attack alongside the in-form Danny Ings.
SOUTHAMPTON: McCarthy, Cedric, Bednarek, Stephens, Bertrand, Djenepo, Ward-Prowse, Hojbjerg, Redmond, Obafemi, Ings. Subs: Gunn, Yoshida, Valery, Romeu, Adams, Long, Boufal.
