Son pulls the ball back down the Spurs left, to Ndombele, but he can't sort his feet and the chances goes.

Southampton look dangerous on the break, but Tottenham are settling into this.

Free-kick to Spurs, left of centre, 35 yards out. Eriksen dinks it cutely to Kane, but he can't take the ball over his shoulder and Saints clear.

Boufal tries one from well outside the box for the Saints, picking the ball up in midfield, but it's comfortable for Lloris.

Southampton, though, are holding their line well and are pushing Tottenham back.

Kane clips a ball into the Southampton box but it's cleared for a corner. Southampton are facing a lot of early pressure. The corner comes to nothing.

Tottenham are controlling the midfield, and Son tries to play Kane in inside the Saints area. Smothered by Gunn.

First opportunity for Spurs. Good first touch from Son, receiving a high ball over the Southampton defence, but it goes for a goal kick.

Ndombele goes down for Tottenham after an elbow from Romeu. He looks OK to continue.

It looks like Southampton are playing three at the back with Cedric out during the warm-up and Vertonghen coming in.

Tottenham score plenty at home, and Southampton have travelled well recently in all competitions. Should be a decent game this afternoon.

It’s a beautiful ground, this. Pochettino won their first four matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but since then his side have won only two of their last six matches there.

In the early kick-off, Liverpool have beaten Sheffield United 1-0 to make it 7 wins from 7 and they move 8 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Dele Alli is on the bench for Spurs but otherwise a first-choice line-up. Danny Ings starts up front for Southampton.
