Both managers have no new injury worries, although Saints back-up goalkeeper Alex McCarthy has a minor muscle problem and will be assessed prior.
Pochettino will recall several players having made 10 changes in midweek, but may have one eye on Bayern Munich next week at home. Saints boss Hasenhuttl will also freshen his deck, and has a decision to make on Danny Ings – whether his first-half brace and second-half assist at Fratton Park on Wednesday is worthy of a starting spot today in the Premier League.

Tottenham have lost nine of their last 18 Premier League fixtures, while Southampton have won just two of their last 11. The Saints, however, will be in high spirits following their Carabao Cup thrashing of local rivals Portsmouth three days ago. It’s a must-win for Tottenham who, in contrast, got dumped out on penalties to Colchester United in midweek.
Spurs are winless in three in the league, with Saints only a point behind them in the table after six played. A win for Mauricio Pochettino and against his former club would be welcome breathing space. Ralph Hasenhuttl, though, will be looking to take advantage of Pochettino’s current malaise, continuing Southampton's steady progress under Hasenhuttl, and may do so deploying the same formation that worked so well against Portsmouth in the League Cup.
