Good evening and welcome to live coverage of Brighton & Hove Albion against Everton. I’ll bring you reaction to the team news and more build-up over the next hour, followed by full live text coverage of the game at the Falmer Stadium.

It’s all over in Brighton and the game ends goalless. That’s probably a better result for the hosts, but neither will be enormously satisfied.

Holgate halts a Brighton attack with a tug-back and there’s one final chance for the home side to have a crack. Could it be a shot? It’s within shooting range just about. But no, it is hit straight into the wall.

It opens up for the otherwise anonymous Iwobi to snatch the winner from the edge of the box, but he fails to hit the target when given time and space to line up his effort. That should have been the goal.

As does Broadhead for Everton.

Burns also comes on.

Both teams make changes for the final few minutes.

Can one of these sides grab a late winner? Brighton seem the likelier of the two to get it, but you never know…

Everton somehow survive a goalmouth scramble, with no Brighton player able to get a definitive touch.

Davies has a pop from range after Sigurdsson’s shot is blocked into his path, but he fails to keep it down.

Lallana’s looping header is palmed over the bar for another corner to Brighton. It’s almost a siege on the Everton goal, and they’ve really struggled to get a foothold in the game since Holgate was forced to drop back into the defence due to Mina’s injury.

Trossard sees a shot deflected behind for a corner as the pressure continues to build on the Everton goal. This has been impressive from Brighton since the break.

Maupay has time to get a shot away inside the box, but he can’t turn his attempt on target. That was probably Brighton’s best opportunity of the game so far and he should have done better.

It’s still not a rip-roarer of a game, but both teams are finding space in the final third now and you sense that a big chance might be on its way.

Coleman finds James in the box and the Colombian does well to force a save out of the keeper from a tight angle. For a second there it looked like he was going to be brought down, but the contact never came.

Moder shoots high and wide as Everton struggle to clear a corner. There’s yet to be a golden chance, but Brighton are starting to rack up the half-chances.

Lallana looks for Welbeck as Brighton storm forward, but his attempted through-ball is slightly under hit and the opportunity evaporates. The hosts are well on top now, they’ve been outstanding in the last few minutes, finding all sorts of space in midfield.

Brighton try a training-ground move from a corner, fizzing a cut-back straight to Moder. His connection is good, but the effort flies narrowly over the bar with the keeper scrambling.

The referee lets the game flow as James lies on the floor after a late challenge, but Everton aren’t able to conjure anything from it. The Colombian looks miffed, but I quite like that from the official, there was space for Everton to do something dangerous there so the advantage was the right option.
