For West Brom the early signs on the opening weekend were that this season could be a long struggle. They were eviscerated at home by Leicester City, a 3-0 defeat in which they created few chances. It’s a tough run of opening fixtures for the newly promoted side, with Chelsea due to visit the Hawthorns next weekend, but some good early results could give manager Slaven Bilic the best possible chance of staying up this season.

Everton got away to a solid start last Sunday, swatting aside Spurs at White Hart Lane courtesy of a thumping header from Dominic Calvert-Lewin. In midweek, they then made light work of the multi-millionaire backed Salford City in the EFL Cup. Carlo Ancelotti has bolstered the team with new signings Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez and there’s an upwardly mobile feel to things at Goodison right now. Can they keep it going today?
