18'
Liverpool launch a corner from the left dangerously into the six-yard box, where Coufal climbs to head clear at the back post.
15'
Liverpool win a free kick just outside the Liverpool area on the right, but Robertson's ball in is overhit. They eventually get the ball back though and find Alexander-Arnold in space down the right, and Fabianksi needs two attempts to gather his wicked low cross into the area.
12'
That was a tidy move from West Ham, that had it's genesis with Bowen leading a purposeful break from the centre circle. Klopp won't be happy with that defending though, and Alisson, though he may have been slightly unsighted, might have done better with the shot.

GOAL! Liverpool 0 West Ham United 1 (Fornals 10)
Well now! West Ham have settled in the last few minutes, and now they're ahead! Masuaku crosses from the left, and a poor header from Gomez lands straight at the feet of Fornals on the edge of the area. He fakes to shoot to the far corner, before clipping a half-volley into the net of the near post!

West Ham get a bit of ball at last, stringing some passes together before Haller wins a free-kick from Phillips. From it they work the ball to Coufal, whose cross from the right is defended well by Phillips who puts the ball behind for a corner.
6'
Alexander-Arnold finds Robertson with a raking diagonal ball into the West Ham area. Robertson just about keeps it in play and hangs a looping ball back into the centre, but West Ham clear.
3'
Phillips beats Haller to the ball in their first aerial challenge, which will be good for any nerves he might be feeling here. It's ten behind the ball for West Ham so far, as Liverpool go probing.
KICK-OFF

We're underway at Anfield.
17:30
The players take the knee before kick-off; black lives matter.
17:29
There is a moment of silence before kick-off - for Remembrance Sunday, as this is Liverpool's closest home game, and to note the passing yesterday of 1966 World Cup winner Nobby Stiles.
17:25
We're almost ready to go here at Anfield. Your referee tonight is Kevin Friend.
17:20
If West Ham are to win here, it's what's known in the trade as A Big Ask. Liverpool's record at Anfield is, quite simply, phenomenal, and they're on the cusp of equalling a club record.
17:15
A quick stetson in the air for David Moyes. In the last few weeks, he has fashioned West Ham into a compact unit with a base of a back three, which has been causing headaches for the opposition. The addition of Vladimir Coufal, inserted into the team as an attacking right-back, looks to have been a canny piece of transfer business. Moyes has never tasted victory at Anfield; can he possibly pilfer a win here tonight?
17:10
One of the most popular statistical bon mots of English football used to be that West Ham hadn’t won at Anfield since The Beatles were at number one with She Loves You. That 52-year, 44-match streak ended in August 2015 when the Hammers splattered Liverpool 3-0. West Ham haven’t won at Anfield since then either, mind. The most recent meeting there between the two was a rollicking 3-2 victory for Liverpool in February.
17:05
After a poor start to the season, where they lost their opening two, West Ham have cobbled together an impressive run in their last four league matches. They thumped Wolves 4-0 at the London Stadium and then waxed Leicester City 3-0 away from home, before that extraordinary three-goal comeback in the final ten minutes that salvaged a draw against Spurs. Last weekend they took a point off Manchester City at home, so they’re in good nick for this visit to the champions tonight.

As the cliché goes, getting to the top is one thing but staying there is another. We’re only six matches into this season, but there are already signs that Liverpool’s credentials will be given a more serious examination than their veritable cakewalk to the title in 2019-20. They’ve lost defensive lynchpin Virgil van Dijk, perhaps for the season, and stand-in Fabinho is now out with a hamstring injury. This is hardly a crisis – they’re still the best team in the league – but compensating for injuries in key positions is a test of any top side, and one Klopp now has to face.
16:55
West Ham have their injury woes in a key position too. Michail Antonio tweaked his hamstring against Manchester City last week, and is replaced in the starting line-up today by Sebastian Haller.
16:50
The big news for Liverpool tonight is the Premier League debut of 23-year old Nathaniel Phillips at centre-half. There’s also a first Premier League start of the season in midfield for teenager Curtis Jones, as Jurgen Klopp turns to youth to cover key positions in his team.
