Newcastle can of course take some heart from the fact that City were unable to beat West Brom in their last league game at the Etihad.

The bookmakers aren't giving Newcastle much chance here, backable at as high as 25/1. That said, a 20/1 shot won the King George Stakes today so.....probably not relevant, yes.

Guardiola is utilising his squad at this busy time of year with only Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias, Rodrigo and Bernardo Silva starting in the midweek Cup victory over Arsenal and both league games.

City in contrast just have one enforced change to the side that edged past Southampton, with the Covid-afflicted Kyle Walker being replaced by Nathan Ake.

A number of changes for the Magpies from their last league game. Fabian Schaer comes into form a back three, with left back Paul Dummett dropping out and Matt Ritchie moves back to play at left wing back. Matt Longstaff plays in the centre midfield in place of brother Sean, alongside Isaac Hayden who steps in for Jonjo Shelvey. With Steve Bruce playing just one upfront Jacob Murphy will start on the right flank with Callum Wilson dropping to the bench.

This is the Newcastle side who will be big underdogs in Manchester.
