OMENS
Spurs are visiting one of their bogey grounds today. In 2016 they were shellacked 5-1 on the final day of the season, while one year ago they were panelled with five goals in the first 20 minutes before eventually losing 6-1. They’re on a handy little run at the minute though, as their race with Aston Villa for fourth place hots up in the final stretch.

LIMPING TO THE LINE
It’s been a tough old season up on Tyneside. What started with almost limitless promise and Champions League football now sees a depleted team at eighth place in the table, with players dropping out left and right. They’re making a scrap of it though and have won three and drawn one of their last five; victory here will, for at least a short time, catapult them up to sixth.

TEAM TALK
For Newcastle there are two changes to the team that beat Fulham last weekend. Elliot Anderson and Harvey Barnes replace Lewis Hall, who is only fit enough for the bench, and Joe Willock who is added to their growing injured list. In a rejigged team Jacob Murphy will fill in at right back today.
Spurs make just one change, with Rodrigo Bentancur replacing Pape Sarr in midfield. There is no place in the squad today for Richarlison, who is recuperating from a knee injury and is being rested.
