Chievo are showing a lot more invention as the game draws to a close - a case of too little too late!

Castaignos leads an Inter break but cuts back inside and slows the play down. Inter look to run the clock down but over complicate things and lose possession. They have been pretty poor today.

Ranieri cuts a concerned figure on the touchline - he know his side should be out of sight.

That pretty much sums up Zarate's afternoon. Running into the box, the diminutive forward looks to throw a couple of step overs but instead trods on the ball. Cambiasso cleans up his mess and finds Stankovic who whips the ball wide of the post from just outside the box.

Moscardelli draws a fine save from Julio Cesar there as the visitors almost steal a draw. Inter really should have this one sown up by now.

Stankovic evades a couple of flailing challenges before slotting a pass to Castaignos but, bearing down on goal, his effort is tame.

Pazzini makes way for Castaignos.

A first foray forward in quite some time earns the visitors a corner but Cesar can only direct his header straight at Julio Cesar. Chance.

Inter have had ample chances this half but not one has been clear cut.

Maicon again marauding down the right with not a Chievo player in sight. His effort rebounds back off the crossbar but Cambiasso can only volley the second ball wide.

Maicon makes yet another charge down the right but Pazzini can't control his low cross. Chievo on the attack now.

At last count, I make it one shot from the visitors.

This is one of those games that Inter could lose. They have had so much of the ball but just aren't turning their territorial advantage into the hard currency of goals. It is Lucio's turn now to head an effort wide of the target from a corner.

All Inter now. Maicon comes in off the flank, exchanges passes with Pazzini before literally toe punting over the bar. Incredible.

Maicon again takes aim but his effort is always rising.

Zarate does well to win and then keep the ball before finding Sneijder who sweeps the ball out to Maicon whose cross fails to beat the first man. He has had a lot of the ball but with varying degrees of success.

Maicon is getting so much space down the right. Inter continue to press high up the pitch and as soon as they win it they look for the marauding full back.

Sneijder brings some much needed invention to the fray with a swift exchange of passes and a switch of play for Maicon who thrashes an effort goalwards.
