Real Madrid are in control again. Barcelona are looking sluggish in the opening stages.

Messi sends in a guff cross from the right, and Navas takes a risk by shielding it out of play, winning a throw.

GOAL! Real Madrid 1-0 Barcelona. Asensio scores - Right, let's all go home. Asensio lurks 30 yards out. Nobody is near him, so he strikes a shot at goal that looks set to fly over, Ter Stegen looks at it briefly, and it flips down into the net and past the 'keeper.

Benzema escapes Pique for a moment, and crosses in from the right. His cross is off-target and cleared.

Asensio pulls the ball back for Modric, steaming into the box, and he pokes a fierce strike into Umtiti's side.

For Real Madrid, it's a touch dull for their line up. Bale is on the bench, as is Casemiro. But they have a two-goal advantage, it makes no difference to them if they simply kill the game for an hour and a half.

Ronaldo is deeply hacked off with the ban, but in truth, he could expect little else.
