Many expected this to be a Clasico final before Atletico Madrid beat Barcelona on Thursday. Incidentally, that result sparked speculation that Valverde could be replaced by Xavi as early as next week!

Of course, this match is being played in Saudi Arabia. This is the first time that the Spanish Supercopa has involved four teams and the final pits two sides against each other who won neither La Liga nor the Copa del Rey.

Zidane has an unbeaten record in finals as Real Madrid manager, but has won just two of the nine matches they has led his team into against Atletico Madrid. He's also lost just two as well, it should be noted - drawn five.

Real Madrid come into this match on the back of a 3-1 win over Valencia while Atletico Madrid beat Barcelona 3-2 in their semi final in what was a whirlwind of a match. They played as well as they have all season.

ATLETICO MADRID TEAM NEWS: Oblak, Trippier, Felipe, Gimenez, Lodi, Thomas, Saul, Morata, Felix, Herrera, Correa.

Oblak is fit enough to make the Atletico Madrid starting lineup while Gimenez comes into the team that beat Barcelona in the semi final on Thursday night. Savic drops out of the side.

REAL MADRID TEAM NEWS: Courtois, Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Mendy, Casemiro, Valverde, Modric, Isco, Kroos, Jovic.

Zidane has named an unchanged team from the semi final win over Valencia. That is unsurprising given how well Real Madrid played in that match. Isco in particular was exceptional.
