Spain international and Barcelona star Ansu Fati has joined Premier League side Brighton on a season-long loan. It is quite the coup for The Seagulls and bolsters their squad ahead of the UEFA Europa League campaign. Fati, who has nine international caps to his name, scored seven times in 36 appearances in the Catalans' title-winning season last term. He was also linked with a move to Tottenham.

Brighton have completed the season-long loan signing of Ansu Fati from Barcelona in what is a major coup for the Premier League side.
Fati, 20, has been capped nine times for Spain and played his part in Barcelona’s La Liga title success last season, scoring seven goals in 36 league matches.
But competition is intense at the Catalan giants and Fati has been allowed to leave on a loan move that does not include an option to buy.
"We are pleased to confirm the signing of Ansu Fati on a season-long loan from Barcelona," read a statement on the Brighton website.
"The 20-year-old made 36 La Liga appearances last season for Barca, as they secured their first title for four years."
Fati, also linked with a move to Tottenham, was reportedly impressed by Brighton’s style under manager Roberto de Zerbi, who guided The Seagulls to a record-breaking sixth place last term, which was enough to secure UEFA Europa League football.
“This is a great deal for all of us. I am sure Ansu will help us to reach a new target and we can help him get back at the level he deserves to be,” said Brighton boss De Zerbi.
The Spain international is two years into a six-year contract with Barcelona.
Making his breakthrough campaign at just 16, Fati was handed his Blaugrana debut against Real Betis in September 2019, becoming the second-youngest debutant in the club's history.
He became the youngest goalscorer in Barcelona's history a week later when he netted in the 2-2 draw with Osasuna, before also becoming the youngest UEFA Champions League scorer ever in a 2-1 win over Inter Milan.

On the international scene, Fati earned his debut in a 1-1 draw with Germany, and scored on his first start aged just 17 as Spain beat Ukraine 4-0.
