Another dangerous cross! This time it's Aarons who drives to the byline down the right side, his cross is a good one, but Switzerland scramble the clearance away under more pressure.

Cross into the middle! The delivery from McNeil out on the left side was a good one, but there was nobody gambling in the middle for England. Where was the runner there?

England need to do more to get Smith Rowe on the ball. He's one of the players who has the creativity and ability to break through this organised Switzerland defence.

Boothroyd will be relatively pleased with how his team have started this match, although they need to tighten things up when playing out from the back. They have already been caught once!

DAVIES... just over! England come flying up the other end of the pitch after the Swiss chance with Aarons feeding Davies, but the Everton midfielder puts his shot on the roof of the net!

Should be 1-0! What a gift! Godfrey played a pass straight to the Swiss attack 25 yards out from goal, Zeqiri was played through and should have found the back of the net, but Ramsdale saves!

Some good passing from England. "Keep it moving," shouts Boothroyd on the touchline. England need to move quickly to break down this well-drilled Switzerland defence.

Ramsdale makes the save! Guillemenot takes on the strike from outside the penalty area, but that was easy enough for the England goalkeeper to save and hold on to.

England have gone out at the group stage of four of the last five U21 European Championships. The quality of Group D means Boothroyd's side feasibly go out again here!

Loose back pass! Switzerland got away with one there! The pass back to Racioppi from Bamert was tame and Nketiah could have pounced on it had he been more alert!

Ramsdale has been criticised for some of his performances for Sheffield United this season. This is an opportunity for the goalkeeper to prove himself at a high level for England.

This is a good high press from Switzerland. Godfrey very nearly gets caught out by it, but his pass bounces back to Ramsdale under pressure from two opposition players.

It's been a lively start by England. They are dominating the possession, although Switzerland are also looking to get forward when they have the ball at their feet. Proactive.

It's not just McNeil who is playing in a slightly unusual position. Hudson-Odoi appears to be behind the central striker as something of a number 10. He'll have influence in that role.

Boothroyd's side came through qualification for this tournament with nine wins and a draw. That record has made them one of the favourites to go all the way and lift the trophy.

Nketiah will pose a real goal threat for England. The Arsenal forward has an exceptional record at U21 level and Switzerland will need to be on their toes to keep him covered.

McNeil's role in this England team is interesting. He appears to be playing as a left wing back. That's not a position he has played for Burnley before. Boothroyd needs him there.
