FULL-TIME: Germany 3-1 Ukraine
There was some shaky defending throughout and a lot of good fortune too, but it's a comfortable-looking win in the end for Germany against a depleted Ukraine side without multiple players due to injury and illness.

Great work from Max on the left again but he miscues the cross and it's out for a goal-kick. He's looked at home on the left tonight though in only his 2nd Germany appearance! Wouldn't be surprised if he held down the regular spot there.

UKRAINE HIT THE WOODWORK AGAIN!! For the third time tonight Ukraine are denied by the post! Moraes produces a brilliant strike on the run but Koch just about manages to get to it and prevent the goal.

GREAT SAVE FROM PYATOV!! Brandt looks to make an immediate impact off the bench as he cuts inside from the left and shoots from a narrow angle but he's unable to beat Ukraine captain Pyatov.

Germany make their first substitution of the night and it will deny Werner a hattrick because he's being replaced by Leverkusen forward Julian Brandt. That might mean Gnabry moves to a more central role for the latter stages of this game.

WHAT A STRIKE!! How did that not go in?! Marlos has flattered to deceive a lot this evening, finding good positions but lacking an end product. That very nearly looked set to change just then as he tries to curl his shot into the top left-hand corner and it ricochets wide off the woodwork.

First of a double change for Ukraine. Zubkov comes off for Anderlecht's Bogdan Mykhaylichenko. He's typically a full-back, so this could be a surprisingly defensive substitution.

Great run from Zubkov down the left and he whips a ball into the middle for Yaremchuk but the onrushing striker just can't seem to get anything on it.

GOOOOAAAAALLLL!!! Gundogan charges forward from midfield and sets Ginter free on the right. He crosses it low to Werner who slots a slightly deflected effort into the corner for his second goal of the night and Germany's 3rd!

CHANCE!! Zabarnyi makes a fantastic block to deny Sane a goal and it goes out for a corner!

Sane loses posession very close to Germany's penalty box but Yaremchuk is unable to capitalise on it. Ukraine looking revitalised here though!

OFF THE POST!! Malinovsky plays a nice pass to Zinchenko on the edge of the area. The Man City midfielder spins and shoots on his left and it's deflected onto the post! Neuer would have been beaten too...

HALF-TIME: Germany 2-1 Ukraine.
Entertaining half of football featuring chances for both sides, although Germany started to assert themselves later on. Both teams however are looking shaky at the back, but the hosts will be glad to have slowed down the game a bit in the closing minutes of the half as they started to retain possession better.
