I guess it makes sense for England to rest their first XI, but they won't be wanting to sacrifice their momentum with a lax performance tonight. Maybe it's thus better to play players playing for a place. Or something.

Of course, also playing tonight we've got Scotland and Spain. Scotland need a win against Spain, by a couple of goals, and England to beat Portugal.

So that's just the 10 changes for the Lionesses; Millie Bright is the only player to retain her spot from the Spain game.

Ana Borges, Portugal's right-back, is wearing number 9. What a world.

However, they're looking exceedingly focused and playing with unusual conviction; they look a team that expects to win.

So, it's all going rather well for England. And yet they're still in a strange situation. If they win tonight, thus winning the group with a 100% record, they play France in the quarter-final, a team they've not beaten since 1974 and lost to in the last three big competitions.
