So Portugal keep on the tail of Switzerland, though this was not much to watch. and they were almost made to pay for sitting on a lead - they should've been made to pay - but Hungary got what they deserved for their total lack of zest, enterprise and wit.

At last! The free-kick! Up comes Gulasci, and Dsudzsak has the ball, 30n yards out, near the right touchline. He curls in a perfect ball! In the middle of the box, Fiola has a free header! But he can only glance a header into the ground, and the ball bounces up for Rui Partricio to snatch easily.

Ronaldo, back to his man, flicks the ball between his own legs as Fiola lumbers through him; he retaliates with a gentle kick. Both are booked, and Fiola will miss Hungary's next match.

Bernardo finds space down the right and clips the back into the box, where Pinter runs into it, diverting it to Ronaldo. He draws back his boot to smash home the record, only for Fiola to throw himself in the road, deflecting the ball behind for a corner which comes to nothing.

Bernardo pulls down Dsudzsak, who applauds the ref's award of a free-kick like he's been victimised all night. This effrontery earns him a booking, and with it a suspension. Played, mate.

Hungary just can't get at Portugal, but perhaps they'll have themselves a set-piece before full-time/ That's what it'll take.

Mario gets away down the left and cuts inside to snap a low cross into the path of Bernardo and Silva, but Kadar did very well indeed to slide in and take the ball away from them.

Hungary might at least make an effort to score - they've got some big chaps, STICK IT IN THE MIXAH!
