Hello and welcome to Eurosport's live commentary of the second leg of Switzerland’s World Cup Qualification play-off with Northern Ireland. This is Ryan Bailey (@ryanjaybailey) taking you through all the action from St Jakob Park tonight.

Brunt's poor effort is virtually the last kick of the half. The pitch needs one heck of a pitchforking during the interval.

Northenr Ireland win a free kick on the edge of the box after a nasty challenge from Schar on Ward. Brunt shoots from around 25 yards but blasts it high over the bar. He looks down at the ground as if it was the fault of the grass.

Zuber tries to put Seferovic through on goal with an incisive pass straight through the middle, but McGovern collects.

CHANCE: Džemaili, Zuber and Xhaka play a beautiful three-pass movement on the edge of the area, releasing Xhaka for a shot, which he puts wide. But he was offside, anyway. Regardless, it was the prettiest thing we've seen on this ugly pitch tonight.

Switzerland break and Seferovic picks out Shaqiri's advance on the right, but the linesman puts up his flag.

Dallas wins a free kick after being manhandled by Rodriguez near the centre circle. Norwood swings it into the box but the Swiss win it back.

Another lull. As it stands, Switzerland are on their way to their fourth consecutive World Cup, courtesy of Ricardo Rodriguez's controversial first-leg penalty.

With the amount of space Northern Ireland are giving the Swiss wide man, combined with their reticence to mark Seferovic in the box, it seems like a goal is coming soon.

Zuber charges into the box from the left and tries to open up his body to place the ball to the right of the goal. He ends up shooting embarrassingly wide.

CHANCE: Seferovic lays off to Zuber from the edge of the area, who shoots directly at the 'keeper. Corner.

At the other end, Dallas cuts in from the right and tries to deliver a cross, but he finds no one.

Shaqiri delivers a cross from the right but Seferovic fails to properly connect once again. The Swiss are still finding it easy to get the crosses in.

CHANCE: Shaqiri charges into the box from the right and cuts onto his left foot, Robben-style. His powerful shot is deflected for a corner.

The tempo has slowed a little. The pitch is giving this one a bit of a Sunday League vibe.

CHANCE: Zuber picks out Seferovic in the area with a lovely, low cross from the left that splits the two centre-backs. Seferovic shoots into the side netting.

The pitch is cutting up very badly. Parts of the middle third are starting to resemble a ploughed field.

Zuber send Hughes to the shops for a pint of milk with a superb dummy near the halfway line! Northern Ireland certainly look more adventurous in this leg, though.

Zuber puts in a dangerous curling, los cross but no one is there to connect. The Swiss wide men are finding it very easy to get enough space to deliver crosses.

CHANCE: Evans tees up Brunt for another long-shot from around 30 yards. It's hit hard, but Sommer collects comfortably.

Rodriguez finds himself in vast swathes of space on the left and tries to pick out Seferovic in the box. The danger is cleared.

Zuber picks out Shaqiri on the edge of the area with a great cross-field pass. Shaqiri's subsequent shot is blocked.
