Hello and welcome to live minute-by-minute coverage of Scotland’s clash with Moldova.

Scotland have shown great fight and team spirit under Clarke, including in their recent win over Israel when they had to recover from 2-1 down to claim a 3-2 victory at Hampden Park.

Patterson gave Scotland the lead with a well-taken goal on 38 minutes. Can the away side build on that or will this second half be a nervy affair for Clarke and his players?

The second half is under way! Scotland have a 1-0 lead over Moldova in this 2022 World Cup qualifier!

HALF TIME: Moldova 0-1 Scotland. Patterson's strike is the difference between the two teams at the break. Clarke will surely want his side to keep pressing in the second period.

While Scotland allowed their levels to dip a bit, they deserve to be ahead. They have been the better team. Will they press for a second goal in the second half to make sure?

Clarke will be pleased with what he has seen from his team in this first half, but Scotland have to be careful. Moldova have had a couple chances. Scotland have to close them out.

Patterson has become a key figure for Scotland since Euro 2020. That goal illustrated the different dimension that he gives the national team. Scotland have more balance with him involved.

The travelling Tartan Army have found their voice. As things stand, Scotland would clinch a play-off spot with this result this evening. But there's still a long way to go!

There was a pretty lengthy VAR check after that goal. Not sure what they were looking at, but it doesn't really matter. The goal stood and Scotland have the advantage!

Patterson played a one-two with McGinn, burst into space and found the far corner of the Moldova net with a driven left-footed finish! Very nice goal from the away side!

It's all got a bit nervy for Scotland now. They started the half very strongly, but there has been a dip. Both teams look to be standing off each other a bit more now. Passive.

Dykes is missing for Scotland this evening through suspension. The former Livingston frontman gives Clarke’s team a purpose and he is being missed here.

Wild from McGregor! Adams retrieves a lost cause out at the corner flag, finds Armstrong with a cross who then sets up McGregor, but he slices his shot which flies wide.

A couple of corner kicks for Scotland, but they don't really make the most of them and Moldova survive. McGinn fails to clear the first man with his second attempt. Must do better.

Scotland have dropped off a bit here. They appear to have run out of steam slightly. Clarke needs to rally his team to end the half strongly. A goal before the break would be big.

Scotland have lost just one of their eight 2022 World Cup qualifiers so far. Moldova, on the other hand, are sitting at the foot of the group with seven defeats from eight matches.
