Migsy is again right - there's just nothing about this side that looks like it's all going to suddenly click. If they don't get some inspiration out of nowhere, they're doomed.

Drmic gets the ball at the near post, and goes for the shot. A poor decision, as he's marshalled by defenders and has little to aim at, and he can't get it on target.

Messi has the chance from 25 yards from a free-kick... but Benaglio keeps it out. The Argentinian talisman has not been able to single-handedly carry his team in this game so far.

No changes for either side, but it surely won't be long before Sabella blinks if his side can't find a way through.

And we're back underway - Switzerland prepare to get us started.

Well, that's the end of a pretty poor half of football. Argentina looked probably the better side overall but it was Switzerland who had by far the two biggest chances. Will Argentina have to shuffle the pack again?

Rojo, Lavezzi and Messi combine with the full-back eventually cutting it back for Messi, but he's surrounded by Swiss defenders and can't do anything with it.

That really was a bizarre moment - disastrous defending, rotten goalkeeping and then woeful finishing. It's not been a terrible game but both sides will be disappointed after this half.

Oh goodness me. Drmic gets clean through after catching out the high Argentina line, Romero comes out to claim it but he's no Manuel Neuer and he hesitates, finding himself in no-mans land. Drmic, however, decides to finish with a rubbish dinked effort which Romero easily catches. That was a huge chance.

We have the first booking of the game, and it goes to Xhaka for a clumsy one on Gago.

....Argentina clear. They've not exactly clicked yet but their defence is looking far less shoddy than it has done.

Switzerland have another opportunity however, with a free-kick out wide...

Switzerland may have had that chance, but Argentina look a lot better here. Johan Djourou, of all people, manages to alleviate the danger here but the screw is beginning to be turned - Argentina are getting their forwards on the ball a lot more.

First big chance, and it falls to Switzerland. The ball pings around the area and falls to Granit Xhaka, but his drive is kept out with Sergio Romero's feet. That could've been massive.

Argentina put the free-kick into the area, but Higuain heads it well over.

Good work from Messi, who spins to avoid the attention of three midfielders and attempts a through-ball for Higuain, but he can't quite reach it. Seconds later, Di Maria gets clattered. The referee really needs to card someone, because the fouling is ruining this game.

Messi is getting increasingly involved, however, and he goes on a nice run here before once again being muscled off the ball. Argentina need to move the ball quicker.
