DeAndre Yedlin is magic. He does well again to get down the flank and smacks in a great cross but it's just behind Wondolowski and Fellaini whacks it away.

Goodness me, that was almost it. The USA got a free-kick and it was played through and Thibaut Courtois comehow kept it out from Dempsey at close range.

Lukaku comes forward on the counter and he somehow manages to muddle his way past two players, but Howard saves it yet again. I cannot emphasis enough how dramatic this is.

The USA are coming forward again, there are five players in the box for Yedlin's cross, and it's an excellent one, but Jones hits it just wide. That was very, very, very close. This is absolutely incredible.

GOAL! And they get it! What an amazing moment! Julian Green has scored for the USA! He gets a long ball over the shoulder, and it's a really difficult finish to take first time but he connects well and puts it beyond the keeper. An amazing moment for the young man and what a finale we might have on our hands now.

GOAL! It's 2-0, and the USA are surely finished now. Kevin de Bruyne breaks and plays a good pass through to Lukaku, who batters it into the net. Even Howard wasn't getting near that. It's all over for the USA.

Geoff Cameron of all people showed some nice feet to dazzle his way past a couple of challenges but his ball to Dempsey isn't quick enough, and the space to shoot is gone by the time it arrives. He lays it off, but the eventual shot is blocked and doesn't quite foll through for him. This game isn't over yet.

The USA were almost dead and buried there - Belgium broke and Lukaku played in Vertonghen, but the Spurs defender took forever to decide what to do then eventually saw his right-footed effort blocked.

Kevin de Bruyne! For the third knockout stage game in a row, one of the most wasteful players on the pitch has gotten the killer goal. Lukaku's strength sees him burst through, his cutback isn't quite dealt with and De Bruyne picks it up to rattle it home.
