Hazard is such a beautiful footballer to watch. He is controlling the midfield. How desperately England need a player of his quality.

There is nothing quite like a footballer throwing himself into the line of fire to block a shot. There it is, Stones in front of Tielemans' venomous effort from the edge of the box.

Meunier nips in and steals the ball off Rose on the right but then delivers a cross which is too high for Lukaku who was perfectly positioned in the penalty area.

Clever run from Sterling as he latches onto Dier's long ball before laying it off to Kane. The Tottenham forward loses his balance as he tries the first-time shot which he screws well wide. He snatched at it.

England's set-pieces have caused so many headaches for so many teams during this World Cup. It begs the question: did Kane really deliver corners at France 2016? Or was it just a strange, disturbing dream?

England corner - and guess who wins it? Yep, 'slabhead' Maguire. But this time he heads it straight at Courtois.

Loftus-Cheek has little support so he goes it alone, dancing his way into the Belgian penalty area, twisting and turning before cutting the ball back into the danger area. But Kompany is there to hack it behind for a corner.

England's back three haven't looked comfortable. Hazard, Lukaku and especially De Bruyne, are causing them all kinds of problems.

Trippier, probably England's standout player in Russia, arches a cross into the penalty area where Loftus-Cheek is well positioned to meet, but his header is straight at Courtois. Better from England though.

England finally register a shot on target, but it's comfortable for Courtois as the Chelsea shot-stopper is equal to Delph's effort from range.

Another sign of warning from the Belgians. Lukaku is causing England all kinds of problems - this time his pass bobbles through to De Bruyne whose shot is deflected and well saved by Pickford who parries it away from goal.

Belgium continue with their bright start, with Lukaku leading yet another charge. He has options going forward, but chooses the wrong one as he plays the pass to De Bruyne and he's soon crowded out. Hazard was in space on the left.

Here come England, desperate to find an immediate equaliser. They work it wide to Trippier but his cross is too close to the goalkeeper.

England have looked relax in the opening minutes - and probably too relaxed. Now they are a goal down, and Southgate will be left fuming with his side's defending.

Well, that didn't take long, did it? England are opened up far too easily.

Lukaku is allowed too much space in midfield and he releases Chadli on the left. He glances up, spots Meunier in the box and delivers an inch-perfect cross. Meunier gets in front of Rose and slots it home for Belgium's opener.
