COUTINHO EFFORT! The Barcelona playmaker was looking for a pass, but by looking for that pass the space opened up for him to have the shot. His effort was straight at Courtois.

While they might be winning, this Belgian system is still really weird. It looks like Lukaku is indeed being asked to drift wide, allowing Fellaini to surge through the middle. Strange.

This is turning into the match we hoped it would be. The intensity and tempo in these opening 20 minutes or so has been great. I don't think this game will finish 1-0. Just saying...

SCRAMBLE! Neymar drives to the byline and cuts back the pass just as it looked like the ball was drifting out. Jesus just couldn't bundle the ball over the line from close range.

Well, well, well. We have a game on our hands now. Brazil started the better of the two teams, they have had a couple chances, they have hit the post, but they find themselves behind.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Brazil 0 Belgium 1 (14 mins - Fernandinho own goal). Against the run of play in the opening 15 minutes of this match, Belgium have scored the opening goal! It's an own goal! The corner kick flicked off Jesus and then off Fernandinho on the way into the net. Oh dear.

There is a very high tempo to this game early on, which is what we all wanted. Brazil are controlling possession, but Belgium also look dangerous on the counter attack when they have it.

There's still a lot of confusion about the Belgium system. Is Lukaku playing out wide? Where is Hazard playing? He seems to be very, very deep. Meanwhile, Brazil are in control.

Brazil are on top at the moment. Jesus and Paulinho very nearly manage to bundle through the Belgian defence, but in the end the danger is cleared. Belgium are creaking early on.

OFF THE POST! That should have been the opener for Brazil. The corner kick from Neymar found Silva free about four yards out, but he somehow manages to knee on to the post.

It's really difficult to work out what system Belgium are playing here. Fellaini as a holding midfielder, but where is Chadli playing? And what about the defence? Is it a back four?

Kompany is back in the Belgium lineup. The Manchester City defender missed the first two games through injury, but he's back and Belgium rely on his experience and ability on the ball.

Jesus has once again been preferred up front by Tite over Firmino. That's a tough call, but Brazil have played better when Firmino has come off the bench at this World Cup.

DE BRUYNE SHOT! The Belgian shrugged his club teammate off the ball inside the Brazilian half. But from 20 yards out he doesn't quite catch his shot and the ball flashes wide.

So here we go. This could be the pick of the quarter finals. Both these teams have plenty of quality in the final third. There could and probably should be goals this evening.
