That’s the end of the session with Hamilton ominously quickest from Alonso, Massa and Vettel. Join us again for FP3 from 15.00 BST.

Button is 13th fastest on the super softs as the session draws to a close.

Only Senna and Karthikeyan are not on the circuit in the dying minutes.

The track remains reasonably dry and it seems like Hamilton will also end this session fastest.

Both drivers out on track running high fuel loads.

Hamilton has had a very productive day in comparison and has completed the most laps of any driver on the circuit with 36.

Button complains of a lack of front end grip.

Button’s first timed lap of the session puts him 19th on the sheets. To be expected though.
