57'
An unusual quiet pocket of time in FP2 - the action has started earlier than usual, but the majority of racers are drawing breath now.
58'
Weather-watch - those showers, somehow, are missing Sepang. So for now it's still all dry.
59'
Of the top 10, it's the two McLarens who are both running at present; the rest are having a well-earned rest.
60'
Half an hour in and our top 10 looks like this: Ricciardo, Hamilton, Webber, Vergne, Alonso, Vettel, Maldonado, Button, Schumacher, Rosberg
61'
Ricciardo and Vergne back in the pits after five and four laps respectively on the mediums.
62'
Hamilton himself is out on track and unlike Webber has kept the hard tyres on.
63'
Webber not quite getting things right - that little near-miss with Kovalainen shouldn't have mattered greatly but despite improving his best he moves only into P3 with a 1:39.1.
64'
De la Rosa on his 9th lap already in this session - he desperately needs the time on the road, and actually most drivers are getting busy in the early part of the session.
65'
Webber clips Kovalainen as they run round the corner! He might have been surprised to see the Caterham nipping by him on the inside!
66'
Mark Webber comes out on medium tyres - that will be interesting to see what sort of a time advantage the compound change can provide.
67'
Ricciardo goes top by a few hundredths of a second - 1:38.853 - his team-mate not far behind, just adrift of Hamilton.
68'
Alonso is not beaten into third, and heads into the pits after a positive run in the Ferrari.
69'
Alonso shaves three-tenths off his time to retake second position. Vettel may well claim that straight back, however...
70'
Minor problem for Di Resta, say Force India. Despite the brakes going on fire, the problem was apparently at the front of the car.
71'
Alonso goes second - just 0.75 behind Hamilton who improves to a 1:38.9 - but then Vettel nips ahead of the Spaniard by a tenth.
72'
Karthikeyan getting some time on the circuit after a frustrating first session in the HRT. He'll be praying for a session free of hydraulics problems...
73'
Vettel now out on track - so whatever the engineers were doing, they're done for now.
74'
Top 10 - Hamilton, Button, Schumacher, Ricciardo, Hulkenberg, Vergne, Rosberg, Webber, Maldonado, Senna. Early days, however.
75'
Engineers are working on Vettel's car and he's one of just three drivers yet to get out on track.
76'
Drivers are reporting much less grip than there was this morning, says Mike Gascoyne of Caterham.
77'
Plenty of drivers still locking the tyres and flat-spotting them again in this session - Button the latest to lock up. If we have a dry race tyre management is going to be a huge factor.
