Plenty of drivers still locking the tyres and flat-spotting them again in this session - Button the latest to lock up. If we have a dry race tyre management is going to be a huge factor.

Hamilton comes round for his first time of the afternoon and he sets a 1:39.611, which is the quickest we've seen so far in the session.

Brake on fire for Di Resta too, apparently. That's plenty for his engineers to tackle.

Di Resta runs wide and his car bumps his way along the grass and gravel, and he picks up a puncture for his troubles.

Button eases off in the final sector, so we don't see an especially competitive time.
82'
Massa through in a very ordinary time of 1:45 - but he does have something in reserve. The man to look out for is Button, who is on track after his car's oil leak was fixed between sessions.

Flags all clear. Perez had an awkward morning session, describing his car as undrivable, and has to go offroad to start this session.

Whoops! Yellow flags out briefly as Perez runs off the track. He ran out of room behind Alonso, who was going very slowly, perhaps as part of an aero test.
85'
1:41.1 from Webber - just over three seconds down from Hamilton's earlier effort. But we have a time on the board, and it should come down.
86'
Nothing too pacy from the looks of things - by sector two he's well done on Hamilton's best mark from the morning.
87'
Webber straight into a timed lap from the looks of things - is he trying to get some running in before any rain comes?
88'
Lots of drivers out early for that task, including Raikkonen, Alonso and Webber.
89'
Don't expect anything too dramatic in the first moments of the session - now is the time for installation laps and making sure the car is right before seeing what it can do.

Right - away we go! 90 minutes of action await us. Glock is in prime position to get going first of all.

And a little bit of paddock talk has Sergio Perez linked with Felipe Massa's race seat - but Sauber insist they are relaxed about speculation.

Free practice one: Lots of longer runs and hard tyre tests to make the most of the dry. The top time of the morning came from Lewis Hamilton.

Weather-watch: Remarkably, it's still dry. It looked set to rain late in FP1, but Sepang has avoided the showers so far. Will that last the whole 90 minutes? We'll see. There'll certainly be some nervous looks up at the sky during the session.
