Germany dominate at Luge World Cup in Altenberg as Sebastian Bley wins men's singles gold

Sebastian Bley won gold in the men's singles at the Luge World Cup while Robin Geueke and David Gamm took first place in the men's doubles. Germany also took silver in the doubles through Max Richard Ewald and Jakob Jannusch. USA's Jonathan Gustafson came second in the singles ahead of Moritz Bollmann in third and Austria's Jonas Mueller in fourth.

Germany enjoyed an excellent morning at the Luge World Cup in Altenberg as Sebastian Bley took gold in the men's singles.
The 27-year-old recorded a time of 55.174 to finish ahead of USA Olympian Jonathan Gustafson in second and his German compatriot Moritz Bollmann in third.
Gustafson finished just 0.202 behind Bley, recording a time of 55.376 after a weaker finish to the run than his German rival.
Bollmann recorded a time of 55.381 to finish third.
But it was close, with Austria's Jonas Mueller finishing in fourth, just 0.091 seconds behind Bollmann.
There was even more German success in the men's doubles, where Robin Geueke and David Gamm took first place.
They finished with a time of 55.174 and looked in control of the race throughout their run.
Their compatriots Max Richard Ewald and Jakob Jannusch finished second to wrap up a podium one-two for Germany.
They finished 0.113 behind Geueke and Gamm with a time of 42.651.
In third were Slovakia's Tomas Vavercak and Matej Zmij, who finished in a time of 42.793.
